Hi Captain Ibanez,

Being an Aussie myself, and an Artist owner/fan, are you able to tell us the number of certain Artists that Ibanez brought into Australia? In particular, I have an '84 AR305AV that I bought recently. I have only ever seen a few of this particular model here. They are really hard to find.

I also have an AR300CS (bought new in Turramurra, Sydney in '83) and an AM205 (bought second-hand last year). I see the AR300 model the most around the place out of these three models but am curious to know how many of each of these were brought into the country (outside of personal imports) if you have access to these figures.

Also, the AR305 has gold-plated plastic pickup surrounds that need replacing. Do you know of any old stock floating around locally to replace these? What about the gold cloud piece? Is eBay my best bet?

Thanks,
James

G'day James, I will really have to do some digging at the office for those old records. Our computer holds 7 years worth of records before they are deleted. However, from memory the AR300CS,was pretty well marketed in Australia back in the early 80's, still remember the ad too...Catch the eye of the Tiger, cause of the beautiful flame maple tops they had. As for your pickup surrounds, email me off line and will give you the address to drop by and see what I got still hanging around, and bring your 305 for me to look at to please.

I'll be back to you soon with some figures :)

Hi James, did some digging and what I can tell you is that around that time we would have bought in to Australia between 24-36 units per year of these models.

Hi Captain Ibanez,

Thanks for this. Do you mean 24-36 units of Artists or 24-36 units of AR305s only? I also recall the ad for the AR300CS I think. Yes the flame top is amazing.

I will attempt to figure out how to send you a private message.

Appreciate you taking the time to find the figures for me.

Cheers,
James
