why Ibanez almost doesn't recognize these guitars and basses?? was it an experiment?
I own an '86 and it's being very difficult for me to find spares and info like wiring diagram.
It has active pickups and it's quite comfortable for transport, and live performance or rehersals for several hours. It has a great tone control with the active circuitry. thanks

Do a search on this site for the best info at this writing on the internet on Axstars. Especially check out Jim Donahue's insider perspective.

I see you have the original pickups. Don't you find that you can't play clean unless you turn the guitar's volume down to 2 or 3 and let the amp boost the volume? On 10 it's Crackle City. Apparently these had bad preamps. Someday, I'll change mine. Other than that-- wow! Great guitars!!!

Hi Elnegro, I will check my files at the office for a circuit to suit your Axstar. Keep your eye open on Ebay....there will be some spares for these up for grabs :)

Hello You all, I own a Axstar with a HSS configuration and I one's did drawn the circuit.
I lost the drawing but my preamp has no opamps, but one FET and three Transistors. Anyway's it's a great guitar but with a bad preamp, that's why I never use it on stage.
