Guys and Gals...why the sudden interest in perhaps one of the forgotten classics of the late 70's. Cappy ask's who's had a recent try or flashback to this closet classic , what would you pay, what's appeared in your area lately. I want your feedback !

Captain Ibanez :)

I will put the scans up to stimulate the collective juices over the weekend from the my archives

Hello from Houston , Tx. I have a CN100,
and while it's not as "fancy" as the CN250,
I think that (a) the CN series have great tone,
(b) hmmm, PRS looks a whole lot like a "lawsuit"
copy. Bottom line, they were a bit ahead of their
time and now people realize just how good
they are.

I never liked the body routing inder the neck. Rounded with a square neck plate - always looked like an novice job.

If they "re-issue", go for a set neck. The bigger headstocks were nice as well as the vine.

I'm with Johns on the set neck CN250

Here's my spec:

Maple on basswood (plain up to figured tops that will help with pricing), birds neck and rosewood board. Two Super70's and a single coil in the middle with optional trem or wrap over bridge.

Whad'ya say?

Oh yeah and that fancy short version "Tree of Life" on the top end models fingerboard.

the cn250 is not a model i'm real into... did they pick it cause the body shape is kind of similar to PRS? but yes, the suggestions above are good with vine and big headstock. script logo? aluminum flight case? make sure it gets the cool pearloid tuner buttons with the tighteners on the shaft.

also remember the main competition will be the vintage models, and i don't think they go for too much money right now. thanks for your efforts it will be cool to see how this turns out!

The only thing that would interest me about a reissue of the Concert would be the vine and a setneck. Going to a setneck would be differing from the original specs, but there is precedent for a setneck with the Magnum (and Greco, maybe?) version of this model.
