Hi...
A friend of mine just bought an old Ibanez archtop. Inside are the words "Ibanez, Salvatore" underneath aree the words
"Copy - Rafael Caelace No. 8"

That's all he could make out, and he's not sure about that, even! Anyway, it looks like an archtop with the f holes and floating bridge... Can you tell me anything about it?
Thanks.

They made so many of these things under different models. usually these were teh Classicals but they did wind up on other things. Post a photo

Thanks so much, Mr Donahue... OK - I'm gonna get a photo taken and post it for ya... you should see this thing - it's really beautiful!

I just had a neck repair done on another old Ibanez acoustic. This has model # 690 written on the label inside ("Ibanez Vintage, made in Japan under strict quality control") and there's a number on the neck block inside (751209) - can you help me with this? When was it made? The guitar is bound in mother of pearl around the body and sound-hole - not flashy, it's rather subtle - thin lines all around. The headstock has the logo inlaid in mother of pearl, also... Anything you can tell me would be appreciated...

One more thing - it's a solid spruce top, rosewood fingerboard (in perfect condition), and solid mahogony back and sides - at least that's what the guitar repair guy told me...

Thanks, Mr Donahue...
