I found my '83 AR1505 AV at a local music store back in September '05. It was a real diamond in the rough- there was a headstock repair which was refinished really poorly, and a piece of the headstock had chipped off and was (barely) glued back on. I just had the headstock repair redone, and the neck refinished, as well as a total refret. This guitar is a keeper! It plays and sounds great!

My question is- what was the story behind the AR1505s? From what I've been able to find out, they were the top of the Artist line, and were only made for a couple of years.

Stever,

Wow!! AR1505AV?
That's really a rare model!! The model appeared in 1983 and then went out of the market in the following year....
The characteristic points regarding the model are, in my opinion, the employment of "Spruce" as its body-top material, and specially wired "Super 58 JAZZ" pickups.
Even here in Japan, the model is almost impossible to be found these days. (I've seen only once, but not in person.)

If possible, will you send me your comment and some photos of the guitar so that it can be added to the list shown in the following URL?

Thanks in advance.
