What is the difference between model numbers mean? Yeah im a n00b..lol... but i see an ibanez rg270, and it looks pretty close to a rg570 or 2550 prestige (okay not the neck-through)...so is it just the different neck type and circuitry/pick-ups? that define the model number? is the size and shape the same between them? i did a search on the site, but nothing i typed in came close to what im asking (maybe im just "naming it wrongly"?)

There is a method that Ibanez uses.

20 Two Humbuckers RG120,EX120
50 HSH with pickguard RG550, Rg2550,
70 HSH No pickguard RG570,RG270,Rg2570
60 SSH No pickguard RG560,RG760, EX360

This they try to use as much as possible but it does not always fit.

Use to be 500 and over was made in Japan but they went away on the RG470 moving to Korea and then back to Japan, Then they made it so any Japanese made would have a Metal Diecut logo Ibanez. Not the silk screen.

Shape is the Begining RG,AR,S,SZ, and so on.
