Jim,
At your convenience, could you please pass on what you know about the '81 Artist (AR10?)Anniversary edition. There was an eBay auction a few months back in which the seller claimed that there were only two of these made (one blue and one purple). I assume that was typical eBay hype and that there were really two models, not two units. Anyway, any information you can provide would be appreciated.

jeff,
i bought that guitar, and it came with letters from chesbro to the original owner who i bought it from. it is in mint condition with the warranty tag marked prototype. chesbro assured the owner in writing that if the guitar ever needed repair that they would take care of it.
i would be interested to hear jims comments. the 10th anniversary of hoshino usa would be in 1982 making it in line to make the prototype in 1981.

I ask because I just picked up a (or should I say "the") blue one. I am awaiting delivery and was just wondering if the hype was true. The one that I got also appears to be in mint condition. The current owner claims to have played it no more than five minutes total in the 20 years he has owned it. I'm really looking forward to seeing it.
