Hi Jim,

any ideas on year and model of this GAX please? As you can see, it was pretty bad when I bought it but not bad now. I only bought it for the pickups but when I played it at home, AWESUM!

It has 2 volume and 2 tone controls like a GAX70 and it has the ferrules for the string-thru-body arrangement but:
- the intonation device looks like one from a GAX 30;
- the socket is on the front near the 2 rear knobs;
- the pickups are double humbuck rails with 3 hole/screw adjustment.

I think it is an early model as it was really knocked around when I bought it. High school woodwork to the rescue. It is a truely AWESUM play and sound - SHREDDER!.

Any ideas?

Is there a serial number on the headstock?

Wow, This is older than a GAX the Neck Plate is from a very old Ibanez. This looks like one of the first Musician Guitar Prototypes. It is very strange I will say that.

The funny thing is the bridge is from the 1980's and so are the tuners?

Where did it come from (What Country or State) This sometimes solves the mystery quickly.

Thanx Jim,

Sorry, the tuners are new, my addition as the old ones were totally hopeless, they would not stay in tune and some were broken so i installed some Gotoh copies bought from my local luthier. As to orogon, I bought it locally, I live in Brisbane, Queensland, Australia. Thanx for your consideration, Jim.
