What was the reason you replaced it and did you use the same type as the original. Was it mono or stereo? If you can can you post a pic of the solder joint and the old jack?

Buzzing or feedback? If it sounds like feedback, it's possible that the old jack wasn't making good contact and with the new jack you are making cood contact (stronger signal)....and now, feedback!? It's definitely a possibility.

Or, the hot and ground are accidentially swapped, and when touching whatever metal part on the guitar, terrible buzzing sound comes from the amp.

Ibanez Jacks have a different Configuration than Switch Craft Jacks,

One Ibanez Jack. The Longest is the Main Ground
The Middle length is the Hot Input to the Jack
the smallest length is either an Extra Ground or the Battery turn on and off, This one only is touching ground when there is a Jack plugged in that is how it shuts off the bettery.

The SwitchCraft jack
the long one is the Main Ground, The second longest is the Battery Ground

The shortest is the Hot,

Everyone makes this mistake.

Jim,

Thanks for the advice. I was lucky enough to sumble across your post before I replaced my stock Ibanez output jack with a Switchcraft. Had I not read your post, I probably would have spent a few hour trying the various possible combinations.

Thanks again!
