Hey everyone,

I'm looking for a bass to use in my modest homestudio. Doesn't have to be an Ibanez, but a 5-string would be nice.

Any suggestions?

I just went through the same process of trying to find a 5 string bass for recording. I ended up with an SR885. It's a solid MIJ model with powerful tone controls (3 band with varimid) which I bought for around $300. I like it because the neck is thin/narrow which makes it easier for a guitar player.

Yamaha makes some great basses, which may provide even more bang for the buck.

Hey Funk,

Thanks for the links. Haven't been able to try anything yet but I will definitely check out those BTB's. Also the yamaha BB-G5A looks like a good buy.
