I have recently acquired SR400. The P-pickup is very well balenced from string to string (after a slight pick-up height adjustment). But when using only the J pickup (bridge) The "E" string is much louder than the rest, with the "A" string being the quietest. I have tried adjusting the pickup height and string height with little or no effect. I have also replaced the battery. I am primarily a guitarist who uses this bass for recording. The only other bass I have owned was a Fender JP90 with passive pick-ups which did not have this problem. Any suggestions? Is this a bad pick-up, or is this common with this model?
