I am the proud owner of a Ibanez Musician bass which I bought new in 82. The id# is L794642. I'm pretty certain it was made in 1979 in Japan. I traded in a Gibson Ripper model to get this guitar. It has been a terrific bass and is in excellent condition. I am thinking of selling or trading up to a 5-string configuration. Can anyone give me information about the electronics and how much this bass might be worth? I never got the original documentation with the guitar and had to guess at its control functions. I am considering a SR3005E.

Sorry, but our little group is light on bass players/collectors. The serial number indicates it was manufactured in Dec. 1979 and probably arrived on a store shelf in early '80. Beyond that, I can't say anything more. Maybe if you uploaded a picture, someone with a '79-'80 bass catalog could help out with more info.
