Hello,
Could anybody please give me some info on my bass. Such as model no.,materials, price, current value etc.
Unfortunately, don't seem to be able to upload any images of it, but design is similar to that of Han's RB950CS (27th Nov). Differences being; mine has one large double pickup (closer to bridge than neck), 21 frets & is finished in a really nice tobacco sunburst, with birds eye maple (?) visible through finish. Serial no. is G833413.
Bass itself has a bit of an interesting history.
Was owned by a bloke called Paul Ryder, of a band called the Happy Mondays. They hit the bigtime in the UK (not sure about rest of the World) in late 80's/early 90's & then basically self destructed. This bass was used on all their earlier recordings, & I remember seeing it on Top of the Pops & on several live videos.
I saw it in a shop in Manchester in '94 On sale for £175 & paid £150 - got it more because I liked the look of it, than anything else.
Bass itself was in quite good condition, but extremely well played in (frets nearly worn down). Really easy to play, with quite a wide range of sounds for one pickup.
I then used it in my own band, doing 250 gigs in a year at one point - bass has never let me down.
Since met previous owner on number of occaisions-a really nice guy, tried to buy it back of me for more than I paid for it. Told me, he'd been round the World a few times with it & that seeing it again brought back a lot of good memories to him.
Anyway, enough of this.
Can anyone please help with info on this bass ?
Thanks
