Hi, Junior. Sounds like a 1950's model. Can you post pictures? One of the label also would help in ID'ing the guitar.

Welcome Junior,

Are we talking about the one on Craigslist?
I mean the one that´s in a thread called "interesting?"
IMO the $1000.- asked there is way too high.

Some people think any old Ibanez is worth a lot of money.
That is of course not true.
A GOOD old Ibanez can be worth some bucks, but among those old guitars there are several mediocre models.
The top models made from top materials are of great value, but in this case the label only says that the house of Salvador Ibanez was FOUNDED 1881. It was burnt down during the Spanish civil war in 1929. Hoshino (founded in 1908 and originally a seller of books including music) distributed those guitars from Spain and acquired the brand name and USED the history of the house on the labels.
In fact these guitars didn´t have anything to do with the real house of Salvador Ibanez rom Spain any more.

I especially like the 1980's Ibanez logo waterslide applied to the body of the guitar-looks AUTHENTIC !

Should have added a cloud and some suregrips to insure maximum EBay $$$$$!!!!!

Dave,

I think the decal is legit.  Take a look at this thread of a similar decal Ibanez from that era.

Yea - I'd agree those logos are legit. There are a few pic's of both these models in the "Untold Story" book that are consistent with the examples we're seeing on both the guitars linked to here. Looks like this is the way they did it back in the day. At least on these models.
