Hi All:

Anyone have a little time and some patience
to help me out to get past some snags?

I put in some time trying to figure this out re.
ICW instructions, but I must have missed a serious turn somewhere.....

As per instructions at ICW I did make some progress....
I got as far as getting the Faststone  Image Viewer program;
& I could find the command in that program
to allow "tags" on the image.
I also got the images to
Jpeg format, got them on my hard drive, and
have them compressed to be less than 50k.

So far so good.....But.....the snags are;

1) Can't find Documentation Menu;
2) As a result, can't find the Formatting Topic area;
3) Couldn't find the format tag function (if there is one)
    in the Faststone program.

As a start, can anyone direct to the Documentation Menu?
And where the formatting tags might be. Hopefully I'll be able to take it from there.
(Maybe I should just stick to guitar playing....)

Thanks so much
Allears

If all you want to do is post pictures in forum messages, you don't need to tag them. The basic steps are:

1. Make sure the image you want to upload is in ".JPG" format (JPEG) (other formats work, but are uncommon)
2. Make sure your image has a file size of 200K or less.
    a. If it is larger, you can use any number of available programs to adjust the size. If you
        use a Windows XP or Vista computer, there are programs that come with the O/S that
        you can use, the simplest of which is Paint (under the Accessories tab). Just open the
        photo in Paint, then choose Image/Resize from the menus, and enter in a percentage.
        A good rule of thumb is that if you get the width of your picture down to 800 pixels or so,
        it should be well under the 200K file size limit. Make sure you provide the same % reduction
        for both Width and Height.
3. Once the photo is sized properly, click on Additional Options, below this text box, then Browse, and then navigate to where you saved your picture. If you need to attach more than one picture (you can do up to four) then click the "more attachments" link to the right of the Browse button and additional "Attach" fields will show up.
4. When you are done attaching your pics, click the "Post" button.

Ta da!

Hi ChuckE99:

Thanks so much for taking the time to write such a detailed reply.

I'll get to this 1st thing in the morning.

If it's as easy as you say, I feel like a complete zero.

Best,
Allears

Well Chuck there it is -- and it's an ok image
considering I have no idea what I'm doing with a camera;
once the image is set to the desired size/edited on the computer,
it can't be more simple than that.

Will try one more: same AR500 a bit closer to the face;
maybe pick up some dust on the surface.

Now I can go have my morning coffee, and then transcribe....

Thanks so much for your kind help.

Best,
Allears
