Juha,

I've been wondering if the MF listings are incorrect. Every picture or video I've looked at had two 1/4" outputs. The Ibanez site still has the outputs listed as TBA, so we may only have been seeing prototypes.

I think a low impedance output (either 1/4" TRS or XLR) would be great.

Balanced 1/4" and XLR is a standard set up for Ibanez Acoustic Electrics. Clearly the NAMM guitar featured in the video had dual 1/4" jacks, so I guess we'll have just have to wait and see.

I'll let you know when mine arrives. Its on order.

Also another question

- anyone know (or can find out) if the 750 - Koa is solid wood or laminated ??

I hope at least the top is solid ...

Jamman, I'll be *shocked* if these are solid wood guitars.  But, can't wait to give one a ride soon. Smiley

Chaz, me too.

Notice in the info Orval posted that both the Cedar and Spruce top versions explicitly say solid tops. These guitars would never be in the price range they're in if the guitar was constructed from solid Koa. Koa is an extremely expensive wood.

I wish the 500 came in natural instead of black. I probably would have went for that guitar because I'm a bit partial to Spruce top acoustics. But like everyone else, I opted for the Koa.

Orval, given your "connections", I suspect you'll get yours long before I see mine. I'd be real interested in hearing your review of the guitar when you get it in hand.

js,  i played the montage at namm while larry was taking a break. its a
nice guitar and very versatile. i thought it sounded better than the t5, but it should
as its a full bodied guitar as opposed to a thinline.

my connections dont necessarily mean that i will get mine first, just that
i will get one.  in fact i think i was one of the last to get my cowboy.

Best of luck on these Montage acquisitions, guys.  I have a feeling these things are gonna sell like hotcakes.  The built-in electronics seemed very slick to me from the youtube demo I watched, and the unique shape and "exclamation point" will do well for Ibanez, I think!

Oh, and the obligatory nag for pictures, of course! Cheesy Cheesy

All

I agree the Koa more expensive but at at $250 upcharge over the base model and given it is made in China, I was hoping that at least the top was going to be solid. The China labor costs are the biggest factor for these prices more than anything else.

Laminated tops usually suffer tonewise as they are too rigid but are ok for sides and backs.

I'm rethinking the Koa, I may opt for the solid cedar top with the laminated rosewood back/sides.

The all Maple 650 looks nice too .. wish I could try them all out.

I look forward to hearing from others when they get theirs and their comments

FYI - just got off the phone with MF.

IF you ordered a Montage by Jan 31st they are set to arrive around 3-28. Any orders after that are coming about a month later (4-25 ish)

Of course these dates are subject to change.

They are still taking orders for the Koa 750 so their allotment has not run out YET .... I guess only 145 will be shipped to the US

What's up with that?  Think Taylor's paying them off? Wink
