Hey All ... 1st post  Grin

Wanted to call on all you Ibanez experts to see if you can help out with something ...

Recently bought an '81 V300 off Kijiji.  Nice sounding instrument but finish was in pretty rough shape.  I bought it for a "campfire" guitar anyway so no big deal really.  A little polish has done wonders in bringing it back to life.

Here's the question ... the model is listed as V300 CW ... for the life of me I can't find the "CW" listed anywhere ... though I have to assume it means Cherry wood. From what I can tell in the '81 catalogue the V300 was sold in 3 finishes BW, TV and MH.

Anyone know of the CW model being sold anywhere?  I know the V300 is a pretty low end guitar but wonder if the CW colour makes it somewhat more valuable if not widely sold??

Thanks!

It's nice in cherry!  That's not cherry wood, by the way, that's just the cherry finish.  The top on your V300 is spruce, I think, though I couldn't tell you if it's solid or not.

Yeah, I can't find it in the catalogs either, jrmac, but that really doesn't mean anything.  You don't see many in the cherry finish, but I honestly don't think that'll have any impact on value.  These old Ibanez acoustics get no respect on the used market.

pretty sure it's a spruce lam top not solid
