Legend,

Only acoustic with model number 105 that I can find is from 1965, but it is not spolted maple nor has a cutaway. Probably you have got an other code, not the model number.

Thanks for that. The brochere is 1989 but I think my serial is for a 1984 guitar.
What I really need to know is what the "T" in the serial #84090357T stands for?? and what factory it relates to as I cant find any info & I have looked for hours.

Robin, have a look here: http://www.ibanezcollectors.com/forum/acoustic-guitars/test-your-knowledge-on-this!/msg64563/#msg64563

There's a lot to look through in this thread; reach your own conclusions.   Best wishes.

I'm thinking about two possibilities:
either Tokai Gakki (they built Sigma guitars for Martin)
or Tama (I read some story about the drum factory being used for guitar manufacturing, which needs to be verified with JD).

Well, I found a Lonestar LS380 in 1984, and x80 has indeed something to do with maple... birdseye maple in that particular case.
IMO opinion it is from 1984, from Japan (Tokai or Tama, both are Japanese).
The fact that it was made in 1984 leaves the possibility open that it was sold in 1985. It depends on the supply whether they decided to print documentation about it. There are more Ibanez guitar that you won't find in ANY catalog.

So, pix of your axe are very welcome!
