Ween your children on Stevie Ray Vaughn, they'll turn out just fine.

Parenting 101 for sure!

i saw stevie twice...once when he was drunk and once when he was sober. awesome both times...he made it cool to play heavy blues. being a long time clapton acolyte...i loved it ..at the time EC was doing the pop mart stuff. i think srv reminded him to go back to playing guitar. his influence will be felt for decdes to come.   oh yeah, steve wilson from here in louisville was his tech....srv used a ts-10 in his rig....not a ts808...and to his knowledge..never did...collectors, start your engines

He certainly could copy Albert King to a T, that's for sure!

Stevie is the man. He has feeling in his music, which, I think, is essential. Like Vai does. You guys have any idea does his tremolo go both ways like a floyd rose does? Maybe a stupid question but I'm sure that I heard pulling it upwards. Not bending. You know, like a kind of tremolo what Yngwie uses. It goes "both ways".

Very good article on SRV in the October issue of Guitar World. Covers his beginnings and the recording of the Texas Flood album 25 years ago. I knew he played for David Bowie on "Let's Dance" but I didn't realize he was asked to tour. He had to choose between maintaining his band Double Trouble or touring with Bowie. As history shows, he made the right choice and pursued his own career. This guy really covered a lot of ground in his short life span.
