Paypal dispute filed!

Seller has received bad feedback.  Unfortunately due to eBay's 'security' system I can't contact this buyer to hear their story.

Wow - sorry to near this. Why do these things happen on the best, most AMAZING deals we're lucky enough to make?

Recently I had a similar bad experience with an (attempted) eBay deal which went bad. Ultimately it was the seller's screw up, but these newer eBay/Paypal policies are a two edged sword. They screw buyers as much as they allegedly protect them it seems. Especially when you score something at an amazing price and you want the item WAY more than you want a refund.

I had loads of choice words for eBay, Paypal, as well as the seller in my situation. Ultimately I had to walk away. Had I continued to fight with all parties involved I probably could have received what I'd bought (just a speaker cabinet), but I would have been reminded of the stressful nightmare the deal had become every time I looked at it - so I just figured screw it. Life goes on.

Because they are "TO GOOD TO BE TRUE"!

They use our greed to get our money...

Good stuff has its price!

IMO the times of uninformed sellers are over.
Every seller on the Internet has the possibilities to find out the true value of an item.
If you find an uninformed seller, he's most likely NOT on eBay/ the Internet.
People who don't want to have anything to do with computers...

Well - this may be true of this AR500, but this speaker deal I had problems with was a legit deal. The seller was basically incompetent and I found the speaker was listed on CL the same day he sent me my refund. I know I could have made things very difficult for that person if I wanted to. I let it go because my issues with the whole ordeal also involved some of the stupidity behind eBay & Paypal policies. I contacted them both and they even agreed with me that they were culpable in what went wrong. I doubt it's going to change anything in the future though.

Ditto, been exactly there...I hate paypal-- HATE THEM!!!!!!

But I'm \ we all are forced to use them. I lost 25% off a sale once because I tried not using them. $1200 difference between same item, two using paypal, one not. That is how dependant people have become on using credit cards via paypal. AND THEY KNOW IT. That is partly why they are so blatant when dissing their sellers.
They know they have us by the balls. In my particular paypal issue, it was laughable dealing with the live paypal agent...they knew how stupid they sounded, admitted their problem, and still didnt care. urrgghhhhhhhh!

I just received an email saying they have resolved the case in my favour and my funds will be restored.

Excellent!

Well done on finding those pics Hiltus!

See, the reason I went for this is the seller is in Mildura,  not far from where I am.  I hope the other sellers got their cash back too!

I dont like paypal either, but they are a must. Even though some of the rules are for the birds, Id rather take my chances with them than sending money via western union or bank wires. As a seller, I like the quick access to my funds, and Ive never had any issues with chargebacks. Yeah, it costs a bit, but the added security is a plus. Unlike others, my pp account isnt linked to one of my cards...so when I buy something, its already payed for with funds in my pp account. Until something better comes along, Ill continue to buy and sell with paypal. Wink

Bill ...its not like you have a choice...EBay is urging all sellers to use Papal and its only a matter of time before they insist.   Personally , I have never had a problem with over 5000 transactions-even have a personal account manager that handles issues during the regular work week and the same guy has been my account manager since 2002....

That's THE problem IMHO. It's only a matter of time before this becomes an anti-trust situation. Their aim is to monopolize as much e-commerce as they possibly can. Granted, it may be a very, very long time before it comes to this, but things are headed in that direction.

I still use Paypal too. Only because they're the only game in town besides US Postal money orders. If the USPS could figure out a way to "transmit" funds instantly - Paypal would start sweating.
