Hi,

I have the opportunity to buy a super 80, but just one.

I have to change the pickup of my new AR500,
what do you think if I use this super 80 in the bridge position and a super 58 on the neck position?

Does someone here ever try that?

Thanks

Nobody?

Perhaps the gain output difference is to important to use this configuration

Huh?

MalKolm...Although what you are suggesting doesnt seem too unusual, these two pickups have pretty distinct tonal characteristics-perhaps thats why you havent recievd much response to this inquiry....it seems that -although these two models of pups have plenty of fans-they dont necessarily go well together on the same guitar...

S80's tend to sound brighter and "chimyer" than S58's...

S58's are closer to the traditional Gibby PAF sound-thicker with a fuller tone....

You might want to consider matching the S80 with a dimarzio super II
Same magnet material
approximately the same resisitance

Maybe you should try S80 in the neck position because it is brighter than S58.
Diference in volume, if  any, you can solve by changing the distance between pickups and the wires.

I have an S80 in the neck and S58 in the bridge position of my AR100. They work well enough in that config for my tastes.
