I allways wondered why the Artist Bass is not shaped like an Artist.......I think Ibanez was going thru some serious development issues in the late 70's (like the 2700 series and development of the Musician)...why not just produce an Artist bass in the same shape as the Artist ?

Great looking bass!

An Artist-Shaped bass would have been a neck heavy nightmare.  Putting a longer horn on the bass side helps keep you from holding up 6 pounds with your left arm all night.

That's a killer price for one of these. Last year they were going for a few hundred more on eBay. Someone should jump on this!
