AR1500 & 1505

« on: May 29, 2009, 09:43:35 AM »

I have a few pieces that I'm thinking of moving. I'll forward photos and an in-hand description to those interested. I may amend this list, but here's what I have for starters.

  • AM255. I have two of these and I'm only going to keep one. Both are in 9+ original condition. I don't have a case for either, but I believe I have a period correct case sitting around that I can be persuaded to give up.
  • 83 or 84 AM50. Pickups replaced with newer super 58s. It once had a pickguard on it, that I still have. Decent condition otherwise. I like this one, so I'll need a serious offer to part with it.
  • 1979 PF400. This is in player's condition. The nut was replaced and I believe it was re-fretted at one point. Could use a set up. I really don't have time to put into it. Beat HSC (not original). I got this one cheap a few years back so this one may be a bargain for someone.
  • 1986 AR350MS. Again, player's condition. This a great player, but is cosmetically challenged. The top is pretty clean. The neck is near perfect. Most of the cosmetic issues are on the back and there is a 1" round piece of finish missing by the end strap pin. I'm a bit attached to this guitar, so I'm not going to give this one away. It has a double locking Edge trem, not a HardRocker pro. Duct-taped OHSC. Seriously. the whole case is covered in duct tape.
  • 83 or 84 V350 1/2 vine Acoustic Black. This is an OK acoustic in really nice condition (black is very unforgiving). It has the cool half vine on the finger board. OHSC.
  • 1979 CN250 CW. Decent Condition. All original including the case.
  • Black preserial 2375 (Strat). I've posted pictures of this on the site before. This has some serious cosmetic issues. I bought this to steal the electronics from it for my '77 but couldn't bring myself to do it. I'm selling it as a project, but it is playable as is, it just needs a setup. No case, no trem arm.
  • Cream preserial 2352 (Tele) with a rosewood board. Player's condition. OHSC. No bridge cover. Also cosmetically challenged.
  • 2009 Montage 550. Original (wrong) HSC, original crappy finish on the back of the neck. I wasn't impressed by this guitar when I got it, so its time for it to go. I also have a limited Koa 750 which is a bit better, but I may be willing to part with that as well.
  • Early 70's Sound City 120 Tube Amp. This needs some work. It was my main gigging amp in the late 70s, but has fallen on some tough times. It went about 20 years without being plugged in. I had it serviced a few years back by a guy that came highly recommended by someone I trust in the business, but he couldn't find the exact problem. The guitar is lacking in output a bit (about 75% what it once was). It also squeals occasionally. I would really like to see this brought back to life, but I don't have the skills to do so. Anyone that is handy with old tube amps may find this to be an interesting challenge. Shipping this thing will be a problem, so I would prefer to deal with someone within driving distance from SE Pa (NY, NJ, DE, MD, VA, etc). I also have the old Univox 4x10 cabinet that I used with the amp. The speakers are the originals, and may not be in the best shape as they too, sat for 20+ years untouched. I replaced the grill cloth and tolex a few years back.
  • Fender Ultimate Chorus Amp. This is a nice Solid State combo amp, but it's way too much for my needs. I'm trying to downsize a bit. If I can get a smaller tube amp, I will let this go as well.

What I'd be willing to trade for (or buy outright):

  • Fender Blues Jr.. I don't care about cosmetic condition, as long as its 100% functional. May also consider a Blues Deluxe, but would prefer the smaller combo.
  • Any solid body Artist will be considered, but I'm specifically looking for an AR100 with V2s and an AR30. Would prefer 9+ condition.
  • 95/96 Fender Strat in Seafoam Green, Lake Placid Blue and/or White with a matching headstock. I'm looking for rosewood boards, but maple may do fine as well. Collector's condition only(9.5+).

I can be contacted via PM on this site or you can email directly at jeffsailor@verizon.net

It's always bittersweet no matter what I sell. I like buying them a lot more than selling them Smiley.

The AM255 is no longer available.

I'd really like to find a new home for both the CN250 and the PF400. They're both player's condition guitars and deserve to be played. The cn250 is in nice condition, well documented by the photos. The PF400 needs a little tlc. Nothing major, possibly a fret level/dress & setup. The lacquer check around the back of the neck near the nut was caused by a bad nut job. It is not structural. The CN250 has the original HSC, the PF400 has a beat aftermarket HSC.

Below are links to the photos. I am looking to get $600 for the CN250 and $650 for the PF400. I will entertain offers. These prices include shipping to the continental US.

I will ship overseas.

Hey.

The only other PF400 I found for sale (& that I wanted to buy) turned out to be stolen! But. thankfully it was eventually returned to it's rightful owner. Sadly though, I didn't get to buy it. I might be somewhat interested........PM sent.

Regards, Noel.

Chuck,

The photos of the 2352 are still up on my Windows Live Skydrive. Follow either of the links I posted for the cn250 or the pf400, then click the "skydrive" breadcrumb above the photo thumbnails to get to the root of the skydrive. The 2352 photos are in a folder off the root.

Thanks, Jeff. I want to compare yours to the no-name tele I just won. There are significant differences. See my thread over in the Replicas (Other) area.
