Andy...
obviously...
DUDE YOU ROCK!

To me, it's so amazing you can do this stuff and...
do it so well.
Amazing.

I sent you a PM here on ICW.

Not only is your work amazing...
but the MOST amazing thing really is...
that you've taken it upon yourself to really make alot of folks so happy.
You are to be commended for both.

Having this second ARTIST TRC certainly Does put the Universe back in balance (for me.)

Now...
if you could only whip up a batch of 2-screw IBZ Star tuners.......................
I've been after them for so long now.
(I had them and let them slip away but.... I digress.)

happy Holidays to all....
It's X-Mas eve and... I'm at work.

Thanks for the kind words guys. I found myself missing a couple of SGll rubbers so I mixed up a batch. If you need any please let me know. This is a picture of two of the reproductions. Merry Christmas.

Hi Andy,
I just sent you a PM related a rubber toggle washer for my Roland G-303 (made by Hoshino), which is exactly like the one used on the Ibanez Musician guitars.
I await your response, Merry Christmas!

Those are incredible reproductions you are pumping out!  Another item that would have a pretty big market would be humbucker pickup rings with the three screw height adjustment set-up.  I haven't been able to find anything close to the originals.  Black molded plastic would work or black anodized aluminium would be great (much less likely to crack again).
Do you think this is within your current capabilities?  I would definitely buy a set as soon as you could pump some out.

That's my project for the weekend now that the holidays are over. I'll let you know how it works out. I'm also working on a small kit to fix the extra hole we often find drilled on the two screw side. Matching the creme color is the hard part. I'll keep you posted.

If the pup rings came in flat and arched top varieties, black and creme, with three hole pickup mounting, I think I'd buy two or four sets of each kind, JUST TO HAVE them, even if I don't NEED them.  Grin

I didn't have time to work on the rings but I was able to seal up "the third eye" on some black rings. I have an almost mint AM50 I just bought that at one point had two screw pickups. I think it came out really nice. You can still see it up close but from a foot away its almost invisible. If any of you do-it-yourselfers are interested I can put together a kit just drop me a line. You will need a  buffing wheel and compound to get the shine back after the repair is sanded flat. I'll provide some 2500 grit sandpaper for that. You will also need nerves of steel during the buffing process especially with the neck rings because you know how fragile they are. Results may vary. I'm working on some creme rings now but matching the color is going to be tough since its hard to find two rings that are the same.

Thanks,

Andy

Nice work Andy.  What rings did you start with?  Are they readily available and do they line up with the original holes on the AM50?  Can you make a modified set and sell those?
On another topic, I have a chance to get a 1979 2622 (for $900 Cdn) that appears to be in decent condition (with the usual loss of plating on the tailpiece and bridge).  I just got a few more pictures and it appears to have a complete brass nut on it.  Did the '79 have this or did it have the half & half nut like the '78?  I can't find a 1979 catalog with the 2622 to verify this.  If the half & half was the OEM part, are there any out there to be had?
Thanks again.

Thanks. These were the original rings off the AM50 that had the extra hole. I'm pretty sure it was a half and half nut on the 2622 and they show up regularly on Ebay.

Excellent job on the PU ring repair.  Quite the little cottage industry you've got developing here.  Keep up the good work!!  Cool

Hi guys,
I'm making flat top toggle switch knobs in creme and black if anyone needs any. Also, check out the creme SGlls. I'm not sure whether I like them or not, maybe a little to Daisy Rock, but the knobs sure are easy to find on a dark stage:)
