Hey Michael,
Don't you think the price on this is rather steep?   Huh

Seller is reaching big time, considering the condition.  Notice the Best Offer option.  My guess is no more than $1,000.

Could be wrong...

Then again, if it sells for the BIN, you & I are sitting pretty!

Very true!
I have seen numerous sellers bump the "But It Now" price, and then accepting offers, most likely where the guitar is expected to sell.

I was considering replating the parts on my 2635, but then I heard that doing this would take away from the value of the guitar? What do you think? The finish shines like it was built yesterday, but the metal plating is just worn Sad

what parts are you looking for?  I need a tailpiece and bridge, maybe a few of us can go in and part the guitar out.

Really is a shame though, It'd be nice if she could be saved.

Is there any way we can find production numbers on this model?
I love mine so much that I am considering getting this one, but what would she be worth if I spend the money to have all the binding replaced?  Would that make it worthless?

wakuhn1, Hrveylee (AM50) here.  Don't replate your guitar if you want to maintain a high value. My suggestions:  Keep the original pieces in a safe place, replace with exact used pieces in better shape.  I've been told time and again, that replating takes value with it, that exact replacement pieces are OK.  I am in the process of getting my 1969 Epiphone Emperor appraised; although I have replaced the pickup, I used the same bracket and have stored the original in a safe place.  I did the same with my pickguard.

"This item has ended."

"1 Offer"

So, nobody hit the BIN. It is not relisted and possibly sold out of eBay.

Still too much because it has the binding problems. Has it been refretted? At least I can see marks of some kind of fretwork on the neck's binding?

Still not really sure what one of these is worth in good condition.. It seems like recently a lot vintage ibanez artists have been up on ebay with 1500-1750 buy it now prices, but are they selling?
Do you guys think that this model is worth more, less, or the same as some of the es-335 style artists?

I have also noticed the up in prices of some of these instruments... Some have also put "Best Offer" as well, because there is no way people will be spending some of the high prices that are being asked.

There aren't many 2635's around. I know what I paid for mine, and there are a couple others here on ICW that have them. I think these instruments hold a pretty high value. I have played $5,000 instruments that did not sound as good as the 2635. I think this is my favorite of all my Ibby's, and will take it to the grave with me if my kids don't get it!
