It's hard to say what they're worth as you don't see too many and sales history information is limited.  I agree with Bill - it's a great guitar and I think mine is worth (to me) much more than I paid for it.

I think the 3 that sold in the last year were in the $1,000-$1,500 range.  The latest one on eBay is in bad shape compared to the others.

Another 2635 owner here and I'll add my two cents... I've been playing nearly 28 years and have owned a LOT of different guitars. The 2635 is far and away my favorite electric-- just a wonderful instrument with amazing tone. I bought mine several years ago for about $1,000 if i recall.

If, god forbid, i ever had to replace her, i would happily pay 1,500+. I've played some pricey classic Gibson's that didnt have anywhere near the tone, feel or look of the 2635.

Thanks Bill. Here's a link to my post w/ pics from a few years ago>
http://www.ibanezcollectors.com/forum/hollow-and-semi-hollow-body-guitars/my-new-gal-a-1978-artist-series-hollowbody/

Mine came with the dreaded pickguard which I promptly removed and bagged. Hardware is all original. There was some obvious corrosion on the flying finger covers, screws and a couple of the upper frets. Some very fine sanding helped. Apart from this, the guitar remains in very good condition; which for me means it's got enough light wear that I can still enjoy it as my go-to guitar without the "collectors" burden/fear hanging over it. Once again, this is an amazing guitar in every respect, with a character and tone that definitely can turn heads.

This is the only catalog shot I know of for the 2635:

http://www.ibanezwiki.com/display/CATALOG/1977+-+Ibanez+Presents+The+Artist

Mine has the same knobs as in the picture.

It's hard to say what would be 'stock' for this guitar as very few 2635's have surfaced.  Also, just because it's shown in the catalog a specific way, doesn't mean Ibanez always made it that way.

Lastly:  if you like the knobs, that's all that matter.

Mine has gibson style gold knobs.  I had assumed that they were not original as the pickguard had been removed, the tailpiece changed, and bridge replaced.  After looking closer I see that there is definite corrosion that left some green staining under one of the knobs.  How long does that take?

I've decided to add a tune-o-matic on top of the floating bridge.  Is that heresy?

Well, I guess that would depend on what you are using it for. If you want to keep the guitar in collector status mode...

I'm debating whether or not to change a bridge on one of my other guitars. Do I keep it all origianl, or not? Right now, I'm on the side of keeping it original...

I figure since the bridge is floating I can always go back to a wooden saddle.  I just want to be able to switch up to nice heavy jazz strings (Tomastik!), and back to lighter blues gauge.
Does anyone have an opinion if this will noticably alter the sound when electrified?

Just though I'd add to the pot that my 78 2635 has sure grips on it.

I would say that changing the bridge will effect the sound and so will going from heavy to light strings. You will also have to set the guitar up for the different string gauges as well.

Hmmmmm...

I guess that settles it. Unless you think that someone added the sure-grips later.

Does anyone know what guitars in 77 came with the gold gibson style knobs

Dan, is yours a 77 or 78?
MK and I have the same tuners, I think we both have 77's.
Maybe suregrips came on the 78 models?
It looks like in the catalog picture they are the gold gibson type knobs...

I think mine is a '78, however, I don't have access to it now.
