Sold for the starting price of $695 (= 478 EUR) - that's what I call a bargain!  I considered bidding on it at the last moment, but earlier today I had a phonecall from my boss, in which he threatend to cut my pay if I don't succeed in cutting costs...  |

I guess the buyer is very satisfied! I've contacted him via eBay. He replied: I discovered this guitar when I was searching for an AS200 and I fell in love with it instantly without even playing, by pure instinct. I am looking forward to receive it. And now I learned about the limited number...Wow, that is very cool . Maybe he'll join us here... wildfield - Thanks! Maybe it's time to look for a new job - I'm open to suggestions...  |

Guess what, I only realized it doesn't have one when I took mine out of the case at home - I hadn't noticed in the shop! Normally I think semis look somewhat "naked" without one, but not the AS193. It doesn't really need one - after all, you're not supposed to play Metal on it or do the Townsend Windmill... |

I don't do either of those, but mine still takes a bit of a hit where the PG would prevent it. I have to periodically polish the scratches out. Fortunately, the thick finish will allow for that, for a long time.  One of these days I'll get a JSM guard for it.  |

I use a static cling pickguard on my AS103 and Hamer Artist.
Does a great job, sticks without adhesive and is clear so the wood shows through.
I work at a sign shop so we have it by the roll.
Any vinyl sign shop should be able to cut a piece for not too many $$$

Besides a JSM pickguard is just a 1 ply back, just like on the Korean AS120. Not even bound and/or tortoise. I replaced the one on my AS120 by a bound tortoise one, which I took of my first second hand The Paul. It didn't belong there and it was bigger than the Paula body, so there was a risk of breaking it. So I didn't order a bound tortoise one for EUR 150.- or something of that price range. But I did improve the look. It's as classy as an AS200 now (kept the original PG of course).
For the AS193 the same rules apply as for the old AM50: No drilling in a collectors piece!
I only meant to say that the manufacturer could and should have solved the problem of the choice between showing the flames and protecting the finish by a transparent pickguard, just like Samick did on the Aria Pro II TA-61 (which has no flames, just a sunburst finish).
