Music is my mistress - Duke Ellington

« on: November 05, 2008, 12:34:57 PM »

I recently purchased a 1978 Ibanez FA300NT (Gibson L5CES Copy) and want to know if there were other vintages of this guitar produced besides 78. I did some research and only found this guitar on the 1978 Ibanez catalog. Can anyone verify if this specific model was produced any other year? I figure that it would have to be after 1978 since this model replaced the 2460.

There were FA300's made in 1979. I couldn't find the catalog but I did find this price list. Congratulations on the guitar, my FA300 has treated me well for many years.

sgjazz,

Thanks for the info but I'm wondering if any were actually produced after 78. The 79 catalog included the new list pricing but there could have been a surplus of FA300's built in 78 that needed to be sold. I'm just saying this because I have never come across an FA300 that was anything other that a 78. I'm assuming that your guitar is also a 78. Or is it?

My 300 is a 78. My 800 is a 79. Chances are they built all the FA models in 79 but may have cut back on quantity.
