Ebay Item Number #120302464663

Looks like a decent guitar, and a good seller. I don't have much experience with these, but have seen them listed at higher prices, and not in as good condition.

Anyone here have one? How do they play/sound?

I remember when these first came out, and Guitar Player magazine ran full page ads with Lee Ritenour...

Question:  Is there anything special about these that would put them ahead of say the AS200 or AM200?

If not, the AS200 is a nicer looking ax.

I agree , unless your a big time Lee fan, or collector for the long haul, i think a much better way to go would be a 2630 or as200. make sure you get one with the tri-sound switch, it sounds way cool, also, i think you can find a much better deal on what i have mentioned, under $1500 -- cheers, jazzzz

It is different, not better or worse, it has foam filled side chambers and custom pickups.

It is also over priced, IMO, seems i have seen a few of them in the last few years go for around $1100.00  or there abouts, jazzz

The listed LR10 does appear to be in great condition, but $1,500 is a bit optimistic in today's market.

Interesting that the seller mentioned MOST of the benefits of owning that model, but neglected to mention
that all LR10's had Brazillian Rosewood boards.  To some potential bidders/buyers that could be enough to
shell out a bit more than a comparable AS200 or 2630.  Without the Braz board and Rit's custom Super 58's (they really do sound better than other 58's I've tried), the LR is no more than a signature model AS100.

I'd bet an offer of $1,200 or so would motivate the seller to close the auction.

Im not sure if i understand you, are you saying the Brz board is better than the Ebony board, I loved the neck on my 2630, also, im wondering , what is the difference in pick-ups, do you know specifically?? jazzzz

Jazzz, I never made reference to or compared Ebony boards in my post.  Brazilian Rosewood is a rare, beautiful and restricted hardwood.  Ibanez has not used it on other instruments to my knowledge, making the LR10 a bit more unique.  To some buyers Braz is a very desireable upgrade to other Rosewoods.

The pickups are Ritenour Specials.  From what I've read, they were custom wound to Rit's specifications.  Played side-by-side with other Super 58's I prefer the Rits.

My post was merely pointing out that the LR10 is a great guitar with a few upgrades.  I own one and love it...but my 2630 (see avatar)will always be my favorite Ibanez.  Wink

Here's a link to more info about the origins of the Ibanez LR10:
