Go for the first one. Nothing against YAMAHA but guess what : strangely I have always found IBANEZ guitars far away superior to any other brands especially when it comes to semi-hollow;

I've owned an AS200 and a Yamaha SA2000...

Quality wise, they are both the same...

However, I would buy the Ibanez.

The Yamaha felt much bigger/bulkier and esthetically is not as pleasing to look at as the Ibanez.

The Yamaha was also much heavier.

Everything about the Yamaha including the neck was bigger/thicker.

If you can ever find one, they do come up on Ebay every so often...is a Yamaha the size of an AM200.   It is a small body version of the SA2200.   Made for the Japan market only.

I would buy that if reasonably priced.

Another to put it if this makes any sense....

The Ibanez guitars have soul...and certain aliveness or feeling, that makes you want to play it endlessly.

The Yamaha guitars I have owned...AE18, SA2200, and the AE1200...all have a coldness to them.   They are very good guitars, high quality construction, but like Japanese sportscars, just do not have what a Porsche has.

When you play both side by side, the difference is obvious.

Juha, as you can see there is a big difference in price, however the Yamaha is very well built. It is heavy for sure. I have a SA1200S (in the misc. gallery) and I like it very much. It also has push-pull pots for coil splitting. Some of us like a little more neck. The SA2200 is still in production, maybe you can find one somewhere to play.

That's because it has the solid spruce top....those "S" models are VERY  nice.
