Probably the seller made up the Scofield connection.

Anyway it would be interesting to test what kind of semi-hollow you get for US $228.00. I bet a beautiful wallhanger.

I've actually heard that some JT models are pretty decent.  I wonder if this is what people said about ibanez in the 70's?

I'm not saying JT can compare to vintage ibbies, but maybe some artcores?

It's a copy of a copy... Cheesy I don't think Sco would endorse this guitar. And did you catch the cheesy phrase at the end; "This guitar will melt your jazz licks into a Coltrane Stew!!!"   Roll Eyes

I'd like to know where the JT's are made. That guitar looks very much like an AS-73. For all we know, they come out of the same factory.

The J Turser guitars are a decent build...crappy high gain pickups and cheap components, but the basic box/slab has always been a decent build.

I would have to agree with Dave...

But then, with most companies using CNC machines, can we expect anything less.

The build quality of many crappy guitars has gone up due to the CNC method of manufacturing.

But...having tried quite a few of them in my local music store...I still wouldn't want one in my collection.

But a Jay Turser JSM100 or AS200...the rarest of rare guitars...Wow Tongue

Juha....No need for sarcasm or snobbery.  I have some of the most valuable and rare Ibanez guitars ever made in my collection, as well as tasty rareities from Gibson, Electra, Taylor, Fender and a slew of others YET somehow I can still get a kick out of and totally enjoy a well built $150 guitar.  They used to make a AM sized semi that was really detailed for under $150......

FYI I was turned on to Turser by one of the original members of this forum........Manic Mike . Mike kept a couple of JT's in his incredible collection.....
