What this seller is trying to do, is certainly not a honest way of doing business.
Presenting it as a 25 year old vintage guitar is a LIE.
There were NO Artstars in 1983.
The serial number is one from Samick 1994.
- The AS80 had DOTS and chrome hardware.
- The AS120 had MOP/Abalone/MOP block inlays and gold hardware.

I think it's an AS80 with gold hardware, probably after-market.
It is NOT an Artstar AS100, which existed in 1989, but it was a JAPANESE DOT with chrome hardware, available in Antique Violin and Wallnut finish.
Value of this axe: EUR 450.- max.
And buyer beware: these pickups were SUPER 50 then, NOT super 58! This means that they weren't wax potted. You will have to do something about the feedback: new pickups or wax pot the old ones.

I think Juha was kidding about the AS100 comment.

I hate auctions like this, all totally wrong!!!

Did you guys see the AM67 that recently sold on Ebay Germany a few days ago?? I was ready to bid, but kept asking questions. There was actually a HOLE in the guitar where the bridge pickup was. (It was replaced with a Gibson pickup the seller said.) You couldn't really see it in the posted pics. After looking much harder, you could barely see it in the pics. I was told this just before the auction ended. Well, at least I was told, because I would have sent that guitar right back where it came from, and what a hassle it would have most likely been!
