Has anyone seen this? It's a promo video shot of a Hoshino dealer meeting in an auditorium (apparently in California) that I am guessing was never finished. Jeff, Bob Weir, Steve Miller and others ("Midnights"?) are on it. Billy Cobham plays a Tama Superstar set. It's mainly of Ibanez collector interest though. Figured I would come here to see if any one else has it.

The pic of Steve Miller is a shot from the show I have I am pretty sure. It has to be from 1979.

TAMAREF: YES, SOME OF THE PHOTOS FROM MY SITE ARE OF THAT CLOUD NINE SHOW AT KNOTTS BERRY FARM DURING 1979 WINTER NAMM, FEATURING BOB WEIR, BILLY COBHAM, ALPHONSO JOHNSON, STEVE MILLER AND ME.  WE DID A SIMILAR SHOW AT THE 1979 SUMMER NAMM SHOW IN ATLANTA WITH HASSELBERGER REPLACING STEVE MILLER FOR PART OF THE SHOW.  IT WAS AFTER THAT SHOW THAT WEIR AND I FIRST STARTED TRYING TO BRING ALPHONSO AND BILLY ON BOARD WITH THE IDEA OF THE BOBBY AND THE MIDNITES CONCEPT.  HISTORY IN THE MAKING!

Bobby:

Welcome to ICW and thanks very much for sharing in the discussion. Unfortunately, most of us don't have access to this video that Tamaref is referring to.

Does anyone have more info, stills or even some digitized clips of this concert?

The video I have is at least two hours. First there's a speaker reading off a list of thank yous and identifying dealers in the audience. One of them is dealer of the year and gets a round of applause. The first performers are a few guys playing Tama acoustic guitars I think, although one guy may have a banjo (Ibanez presumably) at some point. The concert starts with Jeff H coming out and introducing the other performers. Billy Cobham's drums alternate maple/mahogany. He also has a Snyper unit hooked up to his Octobans. (This may be Greek to the Ibanez product-only people here.) Steve Miller joins later and I think they play "Fly Like an Eagle". Bob Weir appears near the end of the concert. What I wanted to do was trade this for 80s Hoshino calendars and/or rare literature. Possibly NAMM-special catalogs made by Hoshino.
