I have this Iceman that has a "J77" start to the serial number on the  back plate (Japan) which I would believe makes it a 77 but was told these werent made until 78. It has butterflys on the pickups which I think are original. If you could tell me a little about this guitar and pickups it would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

J77 means is was made in October of 1977, so it could easily have been sold as a 1978 model. The pickups are chrome-covered Super 80's, with the "Flying Fingers" logo stamped on them. The bridge is a Gibraltar I style, and the tail is a QuickChange I style. The control knobs are Suregrip I knobs. It's a model IC100BK, the BK standing for black, the color. Yes, the Iceman was around in 77:
