I bought this guitar on eBay last week, and was expecting it to arrive today. But when this showed up on my doorstep, I wasn't sure whether to laugh or cry - I'd say my reaction was a mixture of comic amusement and mild nausea.

I think in addition to the Darwin award, this seller should receive an award for the most creative use of an Apple iBook box.

As I carefully removed the mailing tube that was jammed on the neck, I fully expected to find a pile of kindling. To my relief, my new baby survived it's treacherous journey with no injury! Maybe this seller is on to something here. It just goes to show how rugged a bolt neck guitar really is. Aside from a poorly blocked tremolo, it plays like a dream. So far the nicest Saber I've played.

"Taht was funny! At first i thought the grey background was water!"

Yeah, I was so impressed with the effort that went into the packaging that I thought I'd see if it could float :-)

That's too bizarre! I'm shocked that the carrier actually accepted such a package.

Well,

This isn't even close to Funkle's experience, but this is how a 2375 arrived at my door. The guitar was in a cheap chipboard case that I subsequently threw away.

Merry Christmas!!

10 points for style! :-)

Did the guitar survive?  I sure hope so.

Is that shelf paper?

My AM200 arrived in a gig bag with a piece of cardboard folded around the outside. When I voiced my concern to the seller, he insisted that this was a good way to pack a $1000 guitar. Go figure!

Jeff:

I thought it was a counterfeit JEM 777 Floral Print.

That's a classic!

This is the first time reading through this thread.
OMG!  Shocked

That truly is like nothing I have ever seen before.
I'm glad they arrived safely.

I had one eBay seller ship me the guitar (in case fortunately) wrapped with black plastic trash bags and an address label stuck on the plastic.

It arrived in shreds and he had the nerve to get PO'd when I left him neutral feedback.

He later claimed it was some new guy in his shipping department...

Well - this is something you don't see every day!!

Congrats funkie - I say any successful, undamaged delivery is a good delivery. This one just has the added bonus of being hilarious. Wink

Jeff - yours reminds me of the guy I bought my Tama 3563 from. He wanted to duct tape the latches and hinges and slap the postage right on the case.  Grin Cheesy Grin

Mercy!! !! !!
