Hi all, I have a few questions...

1) I just came across a set of Califone speakers that are from the early 60's from what I can tell. They come in blue casing, and the case opens up, like a book. Both have a 1/4" jack connected to them. Any idea what these may have been for? What would they be worth? Anyone intersted in possibly puchasing them? I don't have the time now to take pictures, but could if needed.

2) Who has experience having guitars shipped from overseas? I found a guitar I like, but never had one shipped from overseas... I think I would be a nervous wreck until it arrived at the door not cracked in half. Anyone have good/bad experiences?

Thanks!

Hi Bill,

I had my Aria Pro II RS-850 shipped from the UK using USPS.  I also had my 2681 Professional shipped from Japan.  Both in gig bags!  They both arrived safely and the people I bought from knew how to pack guitars.  Make sure they loosen the strings, pack it well, and I would suggest insurance.  It isn't always cheap though.

Hope that helps and gives you a little confidence in the system,

Patrick

Hi Patrick,
Sure, that helps. Do you remember the method your things were shipped? How long did they take to arrive?
I don't mind waiting to save a few $'s... I just would fear the package getting lost. Can tey be tracked?

Seller has been great answering my questions... that helps as well!

Hi Bill,

I had the 2681 shipped JapanPost which then arrived via USPS.  The Aria was shipped via Parcel Post then USPS when it arrived in America.  Both took about a week to a week and half.  I didn't have to pay customs on either guitars and shipping was $90 from Japan and $150ish from the UK.  The most important thing is that the seller packs the item well.  Make sure they loosen the strings and double box the guitar.  You can get tracking on the item, but the Japan Post tracking wasn't very good.  The Parcel Post was.

Hope that helps...
