I was first introduced to the V2 in 79 on my ST-100.
I can say for sure that they most definitely ROCK!

Totally cool, I have this same guitar bought on ebay 2003 for around $750.

It has all the original parts but they put Gibson pick ups in it.. They sent me the original Ibanez super 58s so I could always put them back in.

Mine does not have a serial number anywhere, I'm guessing these are rare as I never see them.

I like this guitar and it is comparable to the am-50 but with a bigger body, different wood, and slimmer neck.

Welcome darthfocus,

Serial numbers are normally on the back of the headstock or on the label on the inside of body.
I expect that this guitar is from 1988 or 1989. The serial number should start with an H, since it was manufactured by Terada.

Found this locally in a Music Go Round. All original save for the strap buttons and nicely worn but not abused. Case, too. This might be the most fun I have had with only 4 strings! Imagine playing a neck-thru MC for hours on end and still being able to walk upright.

Enjoy.

Glad they've found it. The term "lawsuit" usually refers to guitars made in Japan in the 1970s, exact copies of Gibson and Fender instruments. A 1984 Randy Rhodes V is a nice guitar, but not a lawsuit model. The pawn shop had it priced very low. It's worth more like $300 to $400 (if in good condition).

I have more info on the guitar.
it is a two piece, Randy Rhoades, "lawsuit" guitar.  It was manufactured in 84-85.  The owner has said that when his grandmother bought it for him, that model was made in black pearl and Pink ice.  I dont know exactly what lawsuit means but i have heard this term used referring to some ibanez guitars.

i can get a picture next week.  It has been located at a pawn shop who has it  for sale for $129.00.

I must have not hit "post" on one of my replies. I wanted to say that modern strat-style pickups probably won't fit the holes in the pickguard of your CMI strat, so unless the original pickups are shot, I'd say keep them. They probably sound very good anyway. If you have to replace them, you might have to replace the entire pickguard. Your old pickguard and modern strat replacements are also different in shape (subtly, yes, but screw holes and dimensions are different).

Without seeing pictures of the actual guitar, we're not going to be able to give you a definitive answer on value or model, unfortunately. That said, very few Ibanez guitars, from any year, of any model, approach $3,500 in value.

Here's a catalog picture of the PL2660. It's shown in white, but one of the other guitars on the page is in the "Cherry Ice" color:
