Longtime since I've stopped by here, hope you all have made some nice acquisitions since then!

Looking for a Rocket Roll Sr or pre '80 Explorer. Possibly another original Paul Stanley Iceman also since I am in the process of replacing the corroded hardware on mine with OEM original stuff

Specs:

5 piece maple/walnut neck, ebony board, custom 5-ply binding, EMG 81/85 set, custom acrylic pickguard. The 81 is split via the switch. Trans wine red curly maple top, comes in a modified Dean HSC, not the pictured Gibson case

Can be sold for cash also but I'd prefer a trade for a guitar i want. PM me or post what you have

This without a doubt is one of the best looking and playing Explorer's out there

Thanks!

Ron

Just FYI: The Ibanez V-2 pickups aren't DiMarzios. Although they were most likely modelled after the DM Super Distortion, the V-2 was developed and made by Maxon (Nisshin Onpa) in Japan. The collaboration with DiMarzio started in the late eighties and included the V1 & V2 humbuckers which were developed by DiMarzio and made in Japan, later probably in Korea as well.

I will have for sale a pair of DeMarzio PUP's after monday 15th March, they are a DeMarzio V2 and DeMarzio Super Distortion Zebra but I will need to confirm the latter on monday, I am looking for the first offer of £60 for the pair with free delivery to the UK and Europe and only £5 to the USA, Paypal payment is fine as too is a direct bank transfer, this is them sat on a 1981 AR100CS (not part of the deal  Grin ), the Zebra is a 4 wire version and if required I could modify the V2 to be a 4 wire too FOC.

Please PM me if interested before they appear on e-bay in the week

Cheers

Big,

Eversoexcellent!  That is one gorgeous pair of guitars...and admiring anything so curvy from the rear is one of my favorite pastimes! Wink

must have been great seeing him up close. I was truly blessed to see Joe Pass in a small Chicago club one night, he would not tolerate anyone talking in the room. Got very huffy, but then why the heck would you talk when the master played?

I also saw legendary sax man Phil Woods in Dayton, Ohio...in a virtually empty room with his trio playing incredible jazz.
Those guys played on a level I could not even imagine...then or now.

Still waiting to decide. I did well on my
Iceman sale. I'll know if I'm going to sell
in about a week. Thanks to all that are interested!

BCy2k:

The clip of Jerry Reed was very cool. Seems like Chet was suitably impressed, too.

Quote
...during his set he kept making all these derogatory comments about Kenny Rogers for some inexplicable reason. All I could figure was, they evidently weren't buddies.

Weird story: I've seen Jimmy Bruno play a number of times. He's truly amazing player (check out his work on the 7 string), but known for being very vocal about his opinions. Several years ago, at a guitar show in PA, he was playing with some other hardcore jazzers. Between songs he launches into a tirade about the future of Jazz not being the music of people like Pat Metheny. Guess who was front row, center wearing his Pat Metheny tour t-shirt? AWKWARD! Smiley

Afterward, I went up and told him how much I enjoyed his playing, even though I was a Pat Metheny fan...pointing to my t-shirt. He didn't really respond. Which was probably a good thing for me. Smiley

(Sorry if this is getting off the original topic)

Reba was one of the truly nicest people I met. I have quite a few little stories of time spent around her and her band at that time, before their horrible bus accident.
Lee Greenwood was super friendly to us, and was the joker who liked to tell great stories. His son was drumming for him when we worked together. A memorable night was at Red Rocks only July 4th.

Those were the "days" for me living my dream.

I have owned a Concord  since 1974 and its still as good as new, playing it very regulary and has been lent to a few well known bands to use on thier recording sessions. A great action and tone I recently installed a " WOODY"" Accustic pickup with great success, I would be interested  in what the guitar is worth now. Not that I want to sell it, Dave
