It's at $56 plus $36 shipping right now, for $92. I'd have to strip it and buy the right lacquer for an AV finish, then I'd probably re-use some old gibraltar/cloud hardware and those older Ibbie pups I bought. I'd have to put another $30-$50 into it easily, which puts it close to $150. I dunno. For $300 I can get one all original with no need to salvage.

If the price doesn't go above $100, there's probably a 30 to 40 percent chance I'd try for it. But if it goes higher, forget it.

Chuck - if you succeed in rescueing this one and bringing her back to her original beauty, I guess you should surely be eligible for the Ibanez Gold Star Medal For Duty Beyond Command!   Grin

I missed the end of the auction. No worries. There will be future Darwins to rescue.

What I really want at the moment is a 2618 body with no neck or binding issues (finish can be "relicked" as long as most of it is on the back). I have all the hardware necessary to reconstruct a pristine 2618. I like my "Chuckburst" 2618 alright, but it's just rough enough around the edges that I'd like one I can add to my "collection" proper.

So if you know anyone with a 2618 body lying around, send them my way. I've got a crisp $100 bill waiting for them. (OK, so I have more than that.)

Actually, he says he bought it like that from someone else. So don't send flame mails to the seller...  Wink

The guy who modded it even put a Strat-type PU switch next to the F-hole! Shocked

I wonder what the idea behind this mod (or should I say: murder?) was - want a Strat sound? Buy a Strat for goodness sake! Cause you're sure not getting it from a
1.) 62cm scale
2.) semi-accoustic
3.) with a G-type brige on it
- no what wht pickups you put in there...

That's not Scotch tape. It's Dunlop Pickup mounting tape:) A lot easier then using those tiny little screws plus you can swap pickups on the fly.

All you need is:
- a pair of Super88s
- NOS bridge & tailpiece
- 4 Sure Grip knobs
- rubber ring for PU switch
- white PU switch cap
- possibly a new tuner for the G-string (maybe it's just missing the mounting screw)
- fill 2 holes next to neck PU, and maybe 4 more next to bridge PU
- pray that there's nothing hidden under that plastic round the bridge PU... Undecided

 Grin Cheesy Grin

You watch - someone WILL buy this.

Looks like something was done to the inlay dots as well.

At least it's playable - but I think I'd also wear one of those wrestler masks. Preferably in a matching leopard print.
