Maybe the person who did that was a Clapton fan Wink.

If I come across an 86 AR350PLT, I'm gonna HAVE to buy it!
I'm an Artist cloud lover for sure, but, An Artist with 'basically' a Floyd Rose. I'm in heaven!

Wow. I passed up one like that that was near mint a couple of years ago for $500.

I found one recently in excellent shape for a good price.
It's the one in my account picture.

I love it!

This one is not an Ibanez. I don't even know if it really qualifies as a Darwin either. I posted it anyway because it's got to be one of the funniest/weirdest/more interesting mods I've ever seen. It's an Aria Pro II Flying V copy with a Bigsby!! I'm still trying to wrap my mind around this one.  Cheesy

I saw this too and was tempted to post it but the guy seemed so sincere and went to a @!## of a lot of trouble to make this work that I felt sorry for him. Didn't he realize Bigsby makes a short version just for this application?

Yea - that's why I was hesitant to post it as well. We all have to do what we have to do when it comes to these personal choices regarding mods and all that. It's just so strange to look at IMHO - which is why I couldn't resist posting it.  Grin

It really is executed rather well for what it is, and except for the holes it required it seems like it's reversible too.

It's more like an 'unusual curiosity' than a Darwin IMHO.  Wink

I knew what he was going for but IMHO this is a perfect example of two wrongs don't make a right:) Of course you could save $4000 so this probably qualifies as deal of the week. Gibson is just insane.

Thanks for that link Patrick - that explains a lot actually. The Aria Pro II "V" seller does mention Lonnie Mack several times in his listing as well. I didn't know that Gibson actually made one of these as well. Interesting.

I was doing a search on Bigsby By last week and I saw another Flying V(may have been an Epi) with something similar on another forum last week.
The Aria has a much more involved setup to achieve it's end.
The Epi had a piece of metal bent to attach to the body for mounting the end of the Bigsby B7.

They sure went through a lot of effort to machine that Bigsby mount.
I don't think it's something I would want, but it is well thought out.
I bet they were very proud of the finished product.
