Well, it's priced better than the leopard paint job. That's not saying too much though Cheesy Grin

This seems like a decent candidate for stripping though - especially if the price doesn't get too crazy.

I agree on the possibility of refinishing it...we'll see where this one goes.

The Scruggs just went for $760 to a zero feedback bidder.  We'll probably see it relisted again.

This isn't really a Darwin at all - but I got a kick & a laugh out of this TRC that got converted into a jack plate on this quasi RG550 Frankenstein axe.

"Ibanez gold Floyd Rose Licensed Tremolo (screwed in, not studded)"

What does that mean?
It's rigid mounted?

I wonder if it has enough Ibanez components to be considered a Darwin.
Kinda like if I were to put a CA neck on a Hondo body....   Tongue Oh... the humanity....  Roll Eyes

"The only draw back is the body. Although it appears to be a RG, it was purchased from Canada as an Ibanez body, most of the pick guard holes did not line up, and the PU's cavities are cut different from other RG's that I have seen. I did not have to do any routing, and the pick guard fits into the cavity, but I thought it was worth mentioning. I don't know a lot about Ibanez, but I have to assume the body is either an older RG, or it could be a Canadian market guitar. There is one PG screw that has no wood under it, where the PU cavity is."

Scary stuff....  Undecided

Ridiculous just became ABSURD !.........good to know the guitar is still in EXCELLENT condition ! Grin Grin

These new picts really point to a refinish-these guitars came in a brown color, but these picts-especially the ones of the back-look like a Minwax refinish to me....check out the neck its a completely different color..

2008 starts out with a contender from the late 70's.

I submit for consideration for the 2008 Darwin Award, "Exit Stage Left, the 2622 that goes both ways"

When you have a great guitar that's a righty, but you're a lefty, what do you do?
Of course, you drill holes on the other side and move everything. Vuala' it's a lefty..

A moment of silence is appropriate...

I should let you know that, Knut Koupee' music, the store that did the modifications to that
guitar and the store that did a lot of work on Prince's guitars went out of business sometime
in the early 1990s.  Guitar Center hit town and nuked them more or less.

Patrick

I've never even seen that guitar before in my life  Wink really!

Okay, except for ebay . . .

Hey at least it's an Ibanez Floyd on there.  Cheesy  Looks like it was installed well too.

The real crying shame on this one is it's pre-serial. Even I was ready to call the Vintage Police because of this.

At the very least, I think a moment of silence is in order. Cry

Aaaah yes - when you need to rout that pickup cavity just a little bit more - it's really not okay to use a butter knife, a sharpened spoon, or explosives.  Cool

At least it was described properly as a project guitar, or for parts. It used to be a CN. With just two strings I'm calling it a "two-nitar."  Wink
