Can someone gimme some insight on the more preffered "vinatge" Icemen available out there.
Along the lines of...

the model # (obviously) and...
why the particular model is interesting/preferred...
be it because it's a setneck or the pups or whatever.
I believe certain serial #'s on the Icemen were used later on, on other versions of the Icemen so...
that may be a glitch.

I know which ones I like, when I see 'em but, that's just my eye.
I need more insight.
and I always for get the model # when I see them anyway.

Juha, thanx alot.
I'm sure your link will be interesting to alot of folks.

IC300, IC210, IC400, all nice.

Do I have to worry that those model #'s were used later on on less interesting versions of these Icemen?

IC300 was "reborn" in 1995 and IC400 in 2004, according to catalogs. Vintage ICs were made in early 1980's, too.

John those were my 2 faves as well.
If anybody has one.....
and can live without it,
please let me know.

The reason I was so keen on knowing the correct model # on these is because...
I can have it as a specific saved search and be notigied automatically if one pops up.
I am concerned about the duplication of the model # on later and possibly less desirable ones.
Know what I mean?
If the orig. IC210 is the best one and then 3 years later they called a biolt-on an IC210... I'd have concerns about pulling the trigger on the wrong one.

sorry 'bout typo's above (and all over the place) I'm such a lousy 2-fingered typist.

IMHO the most desirable is the Artist 2663TC.

yeah, the 2663 is the original one I was after.

wasn't there one just like it but it looked like the pups slid on it, like it was designed that way like the Dan Armstrong pups in those see-thru Armstrongs.

anyone willing to cough up a 2663?

Bobzilla: Yes, the 2663 SL with a sliding 3-coil pup. If you can't find one, have a luthier make one. I have considered that (a 2663 TC that is).

Certain IBZ things are difficult to find.

A nice, reasonably priced old Iceman being one of them.

Star tuners being another.

'81 ar5000's being another.

an "Artist" TRC for my ar1200 being another.

a J-200 jumbo copy being another.

a 2341 being another.

and... my other grail... 2674.

does anyone know which "vinatge" Icemen models were NOT bolt ons?
I prefer to stay away from bolt-ons, if and whenever possible.
But, can certainly live with it if need be.
Not that much of a big deal, just personal preference.
