No, I didn't make an offer. It's a DS. It does have some cracking around the input jack, but not too bad. You can get their contact info at www.guitarville.com.

Here it is:  Ebay Item Number #370075488287

It seems to be in terrific shape.  The "ever present 79 jack problem" doesn't even look that bad.

The finish is a LOT shinier than how it looks in the eBay posting. Not very many (if any) noticeable dings. Black suregrip knobs, which are probably original, I think.

Actually, when they had this guitar listed a few weeks back, I asked for closer pics of the input jack.

It looked pretty bad.  It almost looked like many shards of the wood had broken out and then been pushed back.

It was such that I didn't pursue it.

The cracks felt a little flaky, but honestly, it didn't seem like a great concern to me. I think a little super glue in there would hold everything in place, or you could just leave it as is. Still, MC300's come up often enough without damage to the jack area that you can certainly wait for one.

I would suggest for a 79 that jack problem is the slightest I've seen in many years.  We don't see '79 MC300s without it and it seems to be confined to that year.  Also, to Chuck's point, '79 was a GREAT year for Musician finishes.  I don't know why exactly.  Maybe someone can enlighten us?
