Hey guys...

One thing I have noticed is members here seem to have a never ending pool of knowledge with respect to the Ibanez classic and Vintage Basses... So I'm here to gain some wisdom! K, So I'm still a youngster, just made 20 and although I own an '81 Musicain (MC924DS)I wasn't even born when my bass hit the shelves! I have tons of questions that I could ask about the "good ol' days", But my first is this...

What kind of strings did these basses hit the shelves with? What were the preferred strings back in the day? And what strings would you (or do you guys?) put on you musician? Over the last 3 years I've tried anything I could find (and afford on my student salary - or lack there of!) but nothing has blown me away. I don't wanna waste any more money...so please help! Any suggestions?

Regards
Dylan}

I have a set of black nylon tape wound strings on mine at the moment. Very nice sound to them and they dont eat up the fingerboard either. Win, Win. not sure of brand or cost though.
