Ok, so i dunno if i'm slow or not...but over the past weekend i was browsing the Ibanez site. Looks like they released a 20th Anniversary 4 and 5 string bass to commemorate the first Soundgear's from '87.

Are there any other peoples that are as excited about this as i am? I'm super keen!

Whats your take on these basses. They are limited edition, apparently only 100 will be available in the USA or something?!?

If i could get my hands on one, i doubt i would sell it...but how do you think these will fair as investments?

I thought i should ask the pro's, as this is the unofficial official "collectors" site!

Please add links and pics too.

Thanks
Dyl

Dylan:

I'm not a bass player...someday I hope to be a "wannabe". :-) But I really think Ibanez makes beautiful basses. Here's a picture of the SR 20th Anniversary 4 and 5 strings that I took at Winter NAMM in Jan. '07. As you can see they were prototypes and there were no prices.

ahhh... so pretty! thanks for the pic John. I finally got a guestimate on the prices. Looks like there's only gonna be 1 four and 1 five string to hit my country so i gotta decide soon. This may be the time to take the next leap forward by adding another string to my playing!?

Looks like they haven't changed since the "prototype" days, the more i look, the more i like.

Wow, they look gorgeous, John. I'm naught but a bass-wannabe too, I have a F**der Japan JB and I nearly always have it in my lap when I'm at home surfing or listening to music on the 'puter. Resistance is futile John, that 4-stringer is calling out your name.
