Face check this link to Ibanez Register. It has the SR1205NT specs but they have not had your bass. Maybe you can Email Jerry the webmaster some pics and he will put them up.

follow this link and scroll down to Soundgear...

I checked the link that Ibanezfreak gave me, pretty funny, it has every bass Ibenez ever made except the SR1205FL.

Face,

Looks like a '94 made in Korea. Check the '94 catalog. You may want to check '95, '96 etc for more info. You can look at the catalogs at ibanezrules.com. I had a SR1206 for a while. I'm not a bass player, but it was a very nice bass.

Lesli, there is an FL at the end of the model # as my original post stated. But I did not mention that it was a fretless. Face

John,
The serial# is C416304, as you probably already know,
this is a fretless.
I'm mainly interested in what the finger board is made
of. It has a few scratches from round wound strings
and I don't want to damage it if it is some sort of
synthetic.
I thank you for your interest. Face

I tried to send this post to john@ibanezcollectors.com but it came back 550-unrouteable mail domain "yahoo.com"
550 Sender verify failed
Giving up on 65.39.182.46.

Now you see me, now you don't. I was having an email problem yesterday, but it's fixed now.

On the SR1205, I can't say anymore than Funkle has. According to the catalog page on ibanezrules:
http://www.ibanezrules.com/catalogs/us/1994/94038.jpg
it would be a rosewood fingerboard. I doubt that a fretless version of the SR1205 would have a different fretboard material.

Hey guys, thanks for all the input. The last peice of the puzzle is now in place. I had a really good luthier set my bass up for me and he was able to identify the fingerboard as ebony. I had suspected as much but I wasn't possitive. This guy did a great job on the bass, it plays like butter!

Faceonbass:

Ebony, really? For me that would be good news because I happen to like ebony boards.

Thanks for confirming that fact. Someday, someone with the same question will see your message and will thank you.
