Hello Maggy, God of Rock and Roll Vocals: I couldn't find a catalog, but it looks like it is essentially the RB850, but even higher end because it has the figured maple top that the RB850 lacks. I bet this sounds great! Are the pickups passive? Scott |

hi scott, nice to hear from you again and tks for the compliment. yep, these pus are passive and splitable because of these two push/push-poties (vol. + tone). I still dont know how he sounds, only that everything works fine. it came today and I just tested it with a small guit-amp and now its parted for cleaning and polishing. sorry for these bad pics. the fotos dont match neither the beautiful color nor the awsome birdseye-maple finish. could you send me the details of that rb850? I would like to know the specs. what pus are used here? tks + greets maggy |

Hello Maggy: You deserve the compliment a thousand times over-- you are an awesome vocalist! I bet you are no slouch on the guitar and bass, too. You know, when I double checked the net about the RB850, some sites say it has active pickups. I looked further. It looks like yours has two "J6" or "Super J6" pickups. Take a look at this link to an 1983/84 catalog. I don't see your exact model, but I would guess you've got a 900 series bass. I would love to have one. http://www.ibanezrules.com/catalogs/us/1983_84/index.htm Take care-- Scott |

1984 Roadstar Deluxe Series, model RB950MS (Marine Sunburst) The knobs have been changed. Should be SureGrip II. Steve |

Oops! Correction, should be Tek Grip knobs. Body is Bird's-eye Maple and Basswood. Neck is 3-ply Maple. Fretboard is Rosewood. Super J pickups. Steve |

It looks pretty much like mine. Mine is an RB950 according to the tag on the back of the headstock. Ibelieve the colour is wine. /image{RB950} |
