Hi everybody, I gotta sell my Ibanez bass because I switched over to playing guitar.
As i wrote the description for eBay I noticed that I do not know the model-number of my good old bass. I searched everywhere on the internet and I think I found it in an Ibanez catalogue of 1989. I think it's a RD828LE: http://www.ibanezrules.com/catalogs/us/1989/roadbass.jpg
Could somebody confirm this by looking at these pictures:

If it really is a RD828LE, how much is is worth? And has there been a model called RD828 (without LE) as well? If so, what was the difference? And can I tell which one my bass is?
Unfortunately I cant lookup the serial number, as I dont have the bass around.

Have a look at the Roadbass section on www.ibanezregister.com - looks like yours is an RD828LE. It's quite similar to an RD727 or an RD909, but has a different control arrangement. There aren't any other 828 models listed, so it's reasonable to assume there weren't any.
As far as value's concerned - like anything else - & particularly basses & guitars, it depends what someone's willing to pay - and that depends on whether someone really wants the particular model in question.

I know it's hard to tell a price for an used instrument but I thought there might be a certain range in which the price can be. The original price was 900$, but that was more than 15 years ago...
I'm afraid the auction is gonna end much too low anyway. I bundled it with an amp, and bass-case and the auction is halfway through and it stands at about 5$. Guess many people dont bid because I dont wanna ship it, but only sell to people who pick it up personally... |
