I have a bass, I guess from the 60's and the brand is called Teisco, I've been told that that company was Ibanez before it was called Ibanez, can someone help me out on this.
thanks
JAY.

hello jay, teisco is an old CO. that made really bad, but sometimes outrageously neat stuff
the full name is "teisco del ray" and are collectors guitars and basses all on their own.
IBANEZ has had the same name since the 30's at least,
but teisco reminds me of the brands "KAY" & "HARMONY" all cheaper lines some of the stuff is like I said neat, you should be able to find out more about them on the internet.

Hey -- my first bass was a Hofner-style violin-shaped Teisco. :) It was short scale. I traded it in for a Fender Mustang, also short scale, in '75.

I've since moved up in the world, and own 2 Ibanez basses, a '79 Musician series MC900DS, and I just bought a Soundgear 5-string on eBay last week, and love it! :-D

Happy playing,
